Welcome to the Throne Room (Romans 5:2; Ephesians 2:18; 3:12)

Updated: Feb 13

GAINING ACCESS

The true story is told in the scriptures of blind Bartimaeus who was trying to get Jesus' attention, but was seemingly being prevented by those around Jesus (Mk.10:46-52; Lk.18:35-43), as were the two blind men (Matt.20:29-34), but when they obtained Jesus' attention, or access to Him, He healed them.

There can be nothing more frustrating than knowing help is available, but not being able to gain access to the source or solution of that help to obtain the aid or assistance necessary. Secondly, and perhaps equally offensive, is knowing that help is available, but not knowing whether the person or persons, once you have gained access to them, are even willing to provide the help that they so readily can afford.

IF YOU WANT TO

In Matthew 8:2-3, the leper entreated Jesus saying, "Lord, if You want to, You can make me clean, and Jesus put forth His hand, and touched him, saying, 'I want to; be clean', and immediately His leprosy was cleansed". The looming question, for the leper, was whether or not Jesus was willing to actually perform a miracle and rid him of  the plague of leprosy. The man seemed certain Jesus could vanquish the disease from his body, but he was uncertain as to His willingness to actually perform the miracle, on his behalf.

ACCESS

The scriptures contain the powerful imagery of access in the Greek word (prosagoge), 4318. This word is used 3 times in the NT, and is entirely absent from the OT scriptures, though the concept is prevalent.

Romans 5:2, "By [our Lord Jesus Christ] also, we have access by faith, into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God"

Ephesians 2:18, "For through [our Lord Jesus Christ] we both have access by one Spirit to the Father"

Ephesians 3:12, "In [our Lord Jesus Christ] we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of Him"

There is significant importance in this word, and the imagery that it presents:

1. It is unrestricted access to the King, on the merits of someone else, whereby we can enter into His presence at any time, day or night, to obtain our requests.

2. This access also contains the assurance that the requests that we have, will be granted because of our favorable position, made possible by another [our Lord Jesus Christ].

3. In addition, there is not just a favorableness towards us, because of the actions of another [our Lord Jesus Christ], but the word also denotes that there is a familiarity, a casual uncommon relationship, where the King is not only favorable towards us, but He actually likes us, and wants us to be in His presence, in intimate fellowship together.

You are God's Best and God's Best is Yours
