The Prophetic Word: Part 2 (Ephesians 1:3; Hebrews 7:4-10)

Updated: Feb 27

EPHESIANS 1:3 says, "Blessed (eulogetos) (be) the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed (eulogeo) us with all spiritual blessings (eulogia), in the heavenlies, in Christ".

NATURE & CHARACTER

Though the 3 words used to translate "blessed", or "blessings", are very similar, there are some notable differences. (eulogetos) is an adjective, and describes intrinsic character, and understandably, explains why the translators attempts to add the English word (be) after it, in the KJV, distorts the actual meaning of the text. The word is not used as a verb, to describe an action, saying that we should "bless" God, or that He is worthy of "blessing" or praise, although that is true, but rather, it is a statement of fact, describing the nature and character of God.

BEST EFFORT

Translating from one language to another is never a simple task, and sometimes there is no direct translation, but multiple translators "interpreting" various words and passages attempt to render their best effort, often based on their preconceived or religious background, as to what they feel best conveys the meaning intended; however, they may also miss the total context of the verse, or the way in which one word or idiom of the language, affects the translation.

SPEAKS GOOD

Understanding that the root meaning, of these variations of the same word, is "to speak good" of, or "to speak well" of, becomes our starting point in giving clarity to this verse. A better rendering of this verse would be, "The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who speaks good...". God is the God who Speaks Good of us, and He always has, and He always will, Speak Good of us! It is His intrinsic character, to ALWAYS Speak Good concerning us. He has no bad thoughts or words concerning His blood bought children, and any "preaching" that disparages; demeans; slanders; and defames; His children, is not from the Father, but is rather a distortion of the revelation reality of the truth, of the announcement of the Good News!

SPOKEN GOOD (Past Tense)

The text goes on to declare, that the God, our covenant God, and Father, who is always speaking good about us, has, (past tense), spoken good about us "in" the spiritual realm. Even though several translations say He has blessed us "with" all spiritual blessings, the word is actually (en) in the Greek, meaning "in", not "with". The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who always speaks good concerning us, has (past tense), spoken good about us, "in" all that's spiritual, speaking good of us, "in" the heavenlies, "in" Christ.

"IN" STATEMENTS

This may seem to be an awkward translation, and it is somewhat, but it more accurately conveys the meaning of the text. There are 3 "in" statements made: "The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who always speaks good concerning us, has (past tense), already declared, and spoken good concerning us, "in" all the spiritual realm; speaking good concerning us, "in" the heavenly realm, "in" the realm, of and concerning, Christ".

FIRST, it is His nature to always speak good concerning us.

SECOND, covering all the bases, or by every means possible, He spoke good concerning us, "in" the spirit, or, "in" the spiritual realm.

THIRD, this "speaking good" concerning us, was also "in" the heavenly realm.

FOURTH, this "speaking good" concerning us, is related to us being "in" the realm of Christ.

LOCATIVE of SPHERE

The word "in", is what is termed in Greek grammar, as "locative of sphere". More simply put, 'it defines a location where action takes place', and thus the paraphrase of adding the word "realm" into the text.

ACTION of GOD

He spoke good concerning us, in all, by every means, in every area, in the spirit. Unlike (eulogetos), that is an adjective, describing the intrinsic character of God, (eulogeo), used in this portion of the verse, is a verb, describing the action of God. There is nothing concerning our life; calling; giftings; plan; purpose; and destiny, that He hasn't already planned; made provision for; and spoken good concerning us, in the spiritual realm. Understanding, that He spoke the worlds into existence, He has already spoke only good things concerning us, into existence; covering every possible contingency that we may require. It has already been provided for and spoken into existence, ahead of time.

SPOKEN SPECIFICALLY

He also spoke, only good concerning us, in the heavenly realm. This may seem a little redundant, but the word used here, is (eulogia), which can not only describe an action, but 'a manner of speech'.

ACCURATELY & PRECISELY

In other words, not only did our Father speak good concerning us, in the spiritual realm, concerning everything about us, but He also spoke good concerning us, in the heavenly realm, framing His words accurately and precisely. His speech was articulated well, being very specific in both what He said, and how it was said.

VERY SPECIFIC

Everything concerning our relationship with the Father, has been established by covenant, and it is a legally binding declaration, of not just random words, but words that have been carefully crafted to declare authority and power, to rule and reign. He has spoken good concerning us, not just in the spiritual realm, but also among the heavenly realm; [an emphasis on the reality of where angelic beings, and demons abide] being very specific and precise in declaring His plan and purpose concerning us.

"IN" CHRIST

Furthermore, this is all a reality, because we are "in" Christ. To simplify this term, and remove some of the religious rhetoric that complicates the meaning, we are "in" Christ, to the same extent that Levi was "in" Abraham, and paid tithes "in" and through Abraham, to Melchizedek (Heb.7:4-10). We are heirs; legal descendants, and so everything that is apportioned, as being part of our rightful inheritance and authority, belongs to us, and everything that Christ Jesus did for us, in the plan of the Father, legally is credited to us, as rightful heirs. In other words, all the good spoken over us; the words of power, that have force in our lives, are valid concerning us, because we are part of the family.

PROPHETIC WORD

Summary: If the prophetic words of "blessing", spoken over Rebekah, by her mother and brother (Gen.25:60); over Jacob by Isaac (Gen.27:28-29); and over the sons of Israel, by their father (Gen.49:1-27), [see The Prophetic Word: Part 1] all produced change, in the spiritual realm, to cause the words spoken, to be fulfilled, in the lives of the recipients; how much more will the prophetic word, spoken concerning us, of only good things, be fulfilled, having already endued us with the power to succeed.
