Physical Reality vs Spiritual Reality
Titus 1:3 says that God, "...has in due times manifested His word through preaching, which is committed to me according to the commandment of God our Saviour"
The word 'manifest' is the Greek word (phaneroo), 5319, which means, 'to make visible what is invisible', and this is done through 'preaching' (kerygma), 2782, which is the proclamation, declaration, or the announcement, of good news. Invisible, spiritual reality, is brought into physical reality, by the announcement, or declaration of what God has said.
Basically, the declaration of words, of spiritual truth, announced, brings into physical manifestation, what is spiritually real, but that same spiritual reality, needs a voice of declaration to cause its existence in the physical, natural, world, to occur.
Romans 4:17 says that God, "...gives life to the dead, and calls those things which be not as though they were". He calls things that do not exist in the physical, as though they do exist, because they do exist in the spiritual, and this declaration "magically" brings spiritual reality into physical reality, or manifestation.
Foundational Teaching
Mark 11:22-23
Jesus said, "Have faith in God" (Mk.11:23b), or more properly, 'Hold onto, and possess, the God kind of faith, or the faith of God', and then He went on to describe what that God kind of faith is like, or how it behaves, performs, or operates.
"...verily I say to you..."
[Truly I say to you; this is an absolute, firm, unmovable reality that I am declaring to you. The word 'verily' is a Hebraism, which in both the Greek and English, is the word (amen), 281, meaning something is a firmly established fact. It is almost identical to the Hebrew word (aman), 'believe', because 'having faith', or 'believing', is not something whimsical, but it is an unmovable position based on solid fact or hard evidence, of what is actually true. The word 'amen' is almost a universal word; translated as 'amen' in multiple languages].
"...that whosoever..."
[that's anyone].
"...shall say to this mountain..."
[a physical, literal mountain].
"...You, be removed..."
[(airo), 142, be lifted up and suspended in the air; from which we get the English word 'air'].
"...and you be cast..."
[(ballo), 906, meaning to throw with intensity and violence, and from which the English word 'ball' is derived].
"...into the sea'..."
[This being a form of Rabbinic teaching, to take the extreme as a means to demonstrate the mundane; meaning, that if the extreme is possible, then the normal is definitely achievable. For example, if someone can lift 200 lbs of weight, then they can easily lift 25 lbs of weight. The use of a physical mountain as an illustration means that lesser mundane obstacles, or circumstances of life, can then definitely be overcome].
"...and shall not doubt..."
[(diakrino), 1252, from (dia), 1223, 'two', and (krino), 2919, 'to judge', giving the meaning, 'to judge between two', or 'make a difference between two'. It is legal terminology, literally referring to a judge determining a case, deciding between two very different outcomes; settling, or deciding which they will choose. The meaning is that the individual, or person is NOT divided between two, but is laser focused on only one reality; the spiritual reality, and agreeing or clinging only to that choice, or outcome, alone].
"...in his heart..."
[(kardia), 2588), the very center of his being].
"...but shall believe..."
[(pisteuo), 4100, to have faith].
"...that..."
[(hoti), 3754, NOT 'that', but the conjunction, 'because'].
"...shall believe [have faith], because..."
"...those things which he says..."
[Three times in this verse the scripture speaks of 'saying', in "whosoever shall say..." and, "...because those things which he says...", and finally, "...he shall have what he says". The first and last words, 'say', or 'says', are the Greek word (eipon), 2036, a general word meaning, 'to speak'.
The Greek word translated 'says', in the phrase, "...those things which he says...", is the Greek word (lego), 3004, like the child's building blocks, toy game, it has the idea of constructing something specific, and unlike Lego building blocks, it is never a random construction, but a very thought out, carefully formulated, built together, 'word' confession, or statement of declaration].
"...shall come to pass..."
[This phrase is all one word in the Greek, (ginomai), 1096, meaning, 'to come into existence', 'to become', or even, 'to be made'. The Lego (deliberately constructed word, or confession, based on an inward, spiritual reality), brings into existence, something that did not exist, previously].
Paraphrase based on the Greek Text:
"...Jesus answering said to them, 'have faith in God [hold onto, and possess, do not let go of, the God kind of faith, or the faith of God], for verily I say to you ['amen' I say to you; it is an established, unmovable reality, a foundational truth], that whosoever shall say to this mountain [that you can physically see, right here, right now], 'You, be removed and cast into the sea' [that is, be lifted up, elevated from the ground, and violently, with extreme intensity, be thrown like a ball, into the sea], and shall not doubt in your heart, [but shall have your internal focus solely on the spiritual reality of the guaranteed outcome of what you are saying], but shall believe [have unmovable faith] 'because' those things which you are saying [the words you have declared, and constructed, like building blocks, into a formal structure, as a confession of your inward reality of faith], shall come to pass [what you have declared, or announced, immediately, comes into existence, in the spiritual realm], you shall have what you say [what has just been created, and brought into existence, by your spiritual confession; declaration of your faith, will show up in the natural, whether immediately, or progressively, but it will manifest itself, in the natural].
