Job 23:11-12 says, "My foot has held His steps, His way have I kept, and not declined. Neither have I gone back from the commandment of His lips; I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food"
The Message Bible says, "I've followed Him closely, my feet in His footprints, not once swerving from His way. I've obeyed every word He's spoken, and not just obeyed His advice---I've treasured it"
This concept of 'esteeming' God's word or 'treasuring' it, is placing value on it. The Hebrew word is the word (צָפַן), tsâphan, [pronounced (tsaw-fan’)], 6845, which has the idea of 'hide' or 'conceal', but in this instance, specifically, to treasure, or store up for yourself. What is really fascinating is the Hebrew pictographic letters.
There are 3 pictographic letters that form the Hebrew word. [See Below]
The first pictograph is (Nun), which looks like a seed with a root coming out of it. One of the dominant meanings is life, or generational life that continues; it is on-going.
The second letter is (Pey), which is representative of the mouth or a word, something spoken.
The third letter in the Hebrew word is (Tsade) which represents a man laying on his side, and one of the dominant meanings is to crouch, or lie in hiding to hunt for the prey.
Hebrew is read right to left, so the pronunciation becomes (tsaw-fan’), and a literal meaning from the pictographs is 'to hunt the words from the mouth [of God] that produce life that never ends', which was the confession and passion of Job.
You are God's Best and God's Best is Yours
