Independent of Circumstance (Psalm 1:1-3; John 7:37-39)

Updated: Feb 25

PSALM 1:1-3 says (PARAPHRASED):

"... the multiplied blessing of their covenant God, is not only to those who don't engage in the way of thinking; doing; or living that the ungodly; sinners; or scorners of God are involved in, but their active passion is in the directive instruction of the life-giving creator of all things, and in His directive instruction (words) they are constantly remembering; reflecting; bringing up from within; and muttering over and over again; speaking under their breath; His words..."

TWO ASPECTS

There are two aspects that release the multiplied blessing of our Father God, into our lives, spoken of, in this passage, which are really one:

1) not being engaged, or involved, in the negative way of thinking; acting; and living of those who have made themselves enemies to God.

2) actively; passionately; pursuing His thoughts; ways of doing and living, by constantly; consistently; day and night; remembering; reflecting; recalling; and uttering; under the breath, the words that He has spoken to us, bringing them into reality in our lives through the repetitive reflection and utterance; the prayerful consideration and digestion, of His thoughts, expressed in His words.

MEDITATION

If we are engaged in the doing of the meditative; analytical revolving and repetition of His words, constantly, to our selves; what we do will eliminate all concern of even the possibility, of being involved, to any degree, in the destructive lifestyle of what is evil; at enmity, with God.

RIVERS of WATER

The scriptures say, that we will be; it is emphatically certain, that we will be "...like a tree that is planted, by the rivers of water...". We are not just by a river, but by "...rivers of water...". The Hebrew is (palgee mayim), meaning "divisions of water", or more properly "rivulets", of water.

IRRIGATION

The Eastern method of irrigation was to store water in cisterns, especially in arid; dry; parched localities, and create channels of water, in rows between the fruit trees planted, so that irrespective of the climate circumstances, the fruit trees would constantly produce, in season, and never wither, or become frail, but always be fresh and flourishing.

UNENDING STREAM

The visual illustration, is that the cisterns, or source of water, is released, in rivers, or streams of water, to irrigate us, through the constant, continual, muttering, and decided utterance of the words of God; going over and over the scriptures, out loud, under our breath. This action produces and unending stream of multiple blessings, in and through us, and whatever we do succeeds.

BELLY JARS

In a specific example, Jesus said, "...out of our belly shall flow rivers of living water..." (John 7:37-39).One of the most dominate methods of meditating the scriptures, is to mutter, and pray in tongues, over the scripture, read out loud. Jesus said, quite literally, that we are like "belly jars", that contain the "living waters" of the Holy Spirit within, and those life-giving waters of refreshing, can be released through the meditative practice of muttering in tongues, over the scriptures spoken.

CONTINUAL FLOW

Just like the fruit trees, flourishing in the desert, because of constant irrigation, we too live independent of our circumstances, because our source is not dependent on what the conditions are around us, since our source of success is an abundant supply, no matter what the arid climate surrounding us may be; we have a constant; consistent; continual flow coming out of us producing life.
