God's Word = Your Success (Proverbs 10:22)

Updated: 4 days ago

PROVERBS 10:22 says, "The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and He adds no sorrow to it"

POWERFUL WORDS

This is one of my favorite verses in the scriptures, not because there aren't thousands of other just as powerful words, but I still remember, years ago; I was working for a courier service, driving around a winding road, by some United Grain Growers elevators, and God spoke to me, almost audibly, it exploded so forcefully on the inside of me. He said, "I have made you rich". That was cool enough, but then He followed it with this scripture in Proverbs 10:22. Here are some other translations of the verse:

OTHER TRANSLATIONS

"The blessing of Jehovah...it maketh rich, and He addeth no grief with it" (Young's Literal Translation)

"The blessing of the Lord is on the head of the righteous; it maketh rich, and to it no sorrow of heart shall be joined" (Septuagint)

"The blessing of the Lord bring riches, and there shall be no sorrow in them" (Lamsa)

"The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and toil addeth nothing thereto" (Jewish Publication Society)

"The blessing of Yahweh is what brings riches, to this hard toil has nothing to add" (Jerusalem Bible)

"It is the Lord's blessing that brings wealth, and no effort can substitute for it" (New American Bible)

"The blessing of the Lord makes rich; toil yields no increase like it" (An American Translation)

"It is the Lord's blessing that makes a man rich, and painful toil can't add anything to it" (Beck)

SORROW

The Hebrew word translated "sorrow", in the KJV, is the word for labor; pain; or work. Quite literally, though it may offend our mind, the verse literally says:

LITERAL

"The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and you don't have to work for it!"

BLESSING

I would be the last person to advocate laziness; slothfulness; or any other lack in work ethic. However, all of our effort is nothing in comparison to when the "blessing" of the Lord is added to our life!

SUCCEED

A very basic translation of the word translated "blessing", from the Hebrew, is to 'endue with power to succeed".

GREEK

In the New Testament, we know that the Greek word for 'blessing' is (eulogia), which means "to speak" (logos), "good" (eu).

GOD

God blessed Abraham, speaking words over him, saying,

"...I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you: and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed" (Gen.12:2-3)

MELCHIZEDEK

When Melchizedek blessed Abraham, he spoke words over him,

"...and he blessed him, and said, 'Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: and blessed be the most high God, who has delivered your enemies into your hand'..." (Gen.14:19-20)

ISAAC

When Isaac blessed Jacob, he spoke words, saying,

"...God give you of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and wine: Let people serve you, and nations bow down to you: be lord over your brethren, and let your mother's sons bow down to you: cursed be every one that curses you, and blessed be he that blesses you" (Gen.27:28-29)

PROVERBS 11:11 says,

"By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked"

HEBREW POETRY

In Hebrew poetry, this is "antithetic" and "synonymous" parallelism, which means that the first and second half of the sentence are parallel, but convey the same message in an "opposite" format.

"exalted" is antithetic parallelism to "overthrown"

"upright" is antithetic parallelism to "wicked"

"blessing" is synonymous parallelism to "the mouth"

INTERPRETATION

In other words, the declaration; words pronounced, of the righteous, cause the exaltation of the city, and what the wicked say, causes the destruction of the city.

WORDS

The words that the Father have spoken over you, cause you to succeed in any area of life.

REALITY

I used to wonder, why my Father, told me, "I have made you rich", and then gave me Proverbs 10:22, "The blessing of the Lord makes rich...", but like any other revelation, when it is reality on the inside, it is the very pronouncement of His word and our faith in that word, that causes the manifestation of that word.

SPOKEN WORD is the 'BLESSING'

Simply put, although God has "blessed" me in many ways, when He said to me, "I have made you rich", it was His very spoken word that produced, and continues to produce in my life, exactly what He said, "I have made you rich". His word to me IS "...the blessing of the Lord..." that makes rich, and I don't have to work for it, because that word, spoken from His mouth, into my spirit, constantly and continually, bears fruit, and keeps providing ways and means of attracting money; finance; and wealth; into my life, far beyond my expectation. His word is my success!

What is really awesome, is that He is no respecter of persons. What he has done for one, in "blessing" them, He will speak "blessing", and do for you too!

You are God's Best and God's Best is Yours
